SLAV’s Professional Learning forecast for 2019
Welcome back to the new school year. The team at SLAV has planned another exciting year of professional learning with something for every member of staff, teachers and school leaders.
The conference program for the year will commence 29 March with the full day Conference Inspiring Learners, Building Minds: Global and Digital featuring Dr Ross Todd, (Rutgers University, USA) and Julie Lindsay (CSU University & Flat Connections). These two well renowned and experienced learning professionals will inspire delegates to envisage the future of school libraries and introduce them to projects and practice in which Library staff play a key role in facilitating and bringing to fruition.
School libraries are that ‘third space’ that has the flexibility and whole school scope to explore ideas and bring the world into the student learning. This conference will, as always, include shared peer practice that has been successful for others. The conference will be one of practical, mind-opening ideas and learning.
However, don’t wait till March to start your professional learning for 2019.
Reading Forum Series 2019 commences 28 February at Melbourne Grammar School. This is the third year SLAV has conducted the Reading Forum Series and it’s popularity is recommendation of its value. English teachers will find these events a great support to the reading program.
